This course will focus on the fundamentals of Night Vision Devices, including the proper way to move and shoot with them safely and effectively. Students must supply their personal NVGs and an aiming laser with infrared illumination for this course. Students will get familiar with their NVGs, address common mistakes while wearing them, and learn the best practices to get the most out of their gear. We will focus on techniques to shoot and remain effective our to distance, with confirmation of zero on both optics and lasers. Students will practice moving and shooting while properly operating their NVGs and will leave with a much better understanding of their NVGs as well as confidence in their abilities to remain proficient and effective while operating at night.
If you are new to using Night vision, we will go slow and work more on the fundamentals through dry fire and laser systems, such as the MANTIS, to get familiar before going into live fire training. This course has a higher expectation for competency and safety due to a tighter field of vision and loss of peripheral vision.
